Paediatric Dentistry
Pediatric dentistry refers to the branch of dental medicine that manages and treats dental problems in children. The pedodontist approaches dental problems in children at three different levels, where the aim is awareness and use of interventional methodologies to treat dental issues in children. These approaches are: Dental counseling, preventive treatment, and corrective treatment. Children can be prone to dental problems because of carelessness, habits, hereditary issues, and bad oral hygiene. These problems can be tooth decay, misaligned teeth, falling of milk teeth, swelling of gums, the abnormal eruption of teeth, protruded or crooked teeth, trauma or pain to teeth and gums.
